Doha, Qatar: As part of its commitment to enhancing food safety, Al Sheehaniya Municipality, represented by the Health Control Section, has ramped up inspection campaigns during the summer across various food establishments to ensure compliance with health regulations and proper storage practices — especially in light of rising temperatures.
These efforts resulted in the implementation of 2,270 inspection tours, which led to the administrative closure of 3 violating establishments and the issuance of 12 violation reports in accordance with Law No. (8) of 1990. Additionally, 66 food samples were sent to the central laboratory for testing to ensure their safety for human consumption.
Inspectors also verified that workers were adhering to health and safety guidelines during all stages of food handling, including storage, preparation, and cooking. The municipality also carried out intensive awareness programmes.
