Qatar Chamber has recently published an online questionnaire via its website to assess all damages and losses to Qatari companies caused by the blockade imposed on Qatar by siege countries, said the Chamber yesterday. The step mainly aims to identify the extent of damages to Qatari companies in order to address the Compensation Claims Committee (CCC) recently launched to tackle loss claims made by government bodies, authorities, ministries, private companies, public institutions and individuals. Saif bin Yousef Al Kuwari, Head of Committees & Business Councils Department at the Chamber and Head of the Economic Committee for identifying damages caused by the boycott said that the Chamber is very interested to collect accurate and true information on the extent of actual damages to Qatari companies due to the unfair blockade.
The questionnaire aims at pinpoint the actual volume of transactions and damages in order to take the appropriate legal measures according to accurate and documented information, he noted.
“We have launched an online questionnaire via the Chamber’s website through the link http://qatarchamber.com/?lang=en,” he added.
Al Kuwari called upon owners and officials of Qatari companies to fill out the questionnaire and to provide accurate and correct information.
He stated that companies affected by the siege must attach all required documents which will be submitted later to the Compensation Claims Committee, assuring that claims unsupported by documents will be dismissed.
Al Kuwari praised directives of QC’s Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani attempting to identify all damages to local companies due to the unfair siege and addressing all results to the Compensation Committee.
The questionnaire should be completed for each activity separately. The actual damage (not the expected) shall be mentioned during the period from June 5, 2017 until the date of filling out the questionnaire, Al Kuwari pointed out.
