Doha, Qatar: The Language Center at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) has opened registration for the Residence Program in Advanced Arabic and Social Studies.
The programme is part of the DI’s mission to establish academic and cultural connections between the DI’s students and faculty and international educational and research forums and strengthen such connections.
It is considered a unique forum for academic and cultural exchange of the DI’s predominantly native Arabic-speaking graduates and teachers (from across the Arab World) and their international non-native speakers or heritage peers.
Dr Alaa Eljebali, the Director of the Language Center, stated that the programme that takes one semester in Doha is meant to meet the linguistics, cultural and academic needs of advanced Arabic learners and the heritage students who wish to strengthen their language and culture skills.
He added that the programme is delivered entirely in Arabic. It provides the students with expertise in their academic majors and allows them to interact professionally in Arabic. It also offers dedicated classes in language, translation, content, production skills, listening, reading and others.
The students will benefit from the diversity of the courses available at the DI in Arabic through its two schools: The school of the Social Sciences and Humanities and the School of Economy, Administration and Public Policy.
It is worth noting that the DI offers an exemption from tuition fees and provides free accommodation for a limited number of academically distinguished students. Interested students can apply through the DI website until August 15, 2023. The programme will start on January 7, 2024, and end on April 25, 2024.
