DOHA: Qatar Petroleum (QP) said yesterday that the specifications of automobile gasoline (petrol) sold at fuel stations across Qatar will be amended effective from June 1.
Under the new specifications, ‘Super’ and ‘Premium’ gasoline grades will now become 95 octane (from 97) and 91 octane (from 90), respectively. The new specifications are consistent with international standard specifications in effect in the GCC countries and most of the world. QP has assured that ‘Super’ 95 octane and ‘Premium’ 91 octane gasoline are high-quality fuel grades that suit all gasoline-driven cars in Qatar, advising motorists to continue to use Super and Premium gasoline as usual.
