Youngsters taking part in a race as part of National Sport Day activities hosted by RasGas last year.
DOHA: RasGas is partnering with Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) for the third consecutive year to host a full day of sporting and fun activities to mark National Sport Day 2014.
More than 3,000 RasGas employees and their families are expected to participate in the activities on February 11 at Aspire Zone.
Highlights include team tournaments for football, basketball and cricket, ladies-only activities, mini-competitions for children, a Fun Run and a 5,000-step walk. It will also feature sports entertainers performing live kickboxing and acrobatic shows.
A team of sports professionals will be on hand to encourage participants and keep power levels high. Through an innovative individual barcoded passport, each participant can track his or her sporting performance in each activity to compete in the RasGas Sporting Awards challenge.
The theme for this year’s National Sport Day is ‘Get Powered 2014’ and is aligned with the company’s corporate social responsibility programme’s focus on promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. The peninsula
