DOHA: Nasser Al Khelaifi has been voted Chairman of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF), according to a tweet by Qatar's national tennis body.
"Nasser Al Khelaifi has been voted Chairman of the Asian Tennis Federation in the election held earlier today in Jakarta, Indonesia on the sidelines of the Annual General Assembly (AGM) of the federation," a tweet on @QatarTennis claimed yesterday.
Al Khelaifi, a former Davis Cup player for Qatar, is currently the President of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation (QTSBF). He is chairman and chief executive officer of Paris Saint-Germain, the French football giants.
In 2015, Al Khelaifi was crowned ‘favourite Ligue 1 president’ and in 2016, L'Equipe named him ‘the most powerful man in French football’. The 44-year-old is one of the most popular sports personalities in Qatar.
