Gaza: The Gaza Ministry of Health announced Sunday that it had received the bodies of 15 Palestinians as part of a prisoner exchange agreement between Hamas and the Israeli occupation.
The latest transfer brings the total number of bodies returned to Gaza to 150.
The ministry said that, so far, the identities of 25 of the deceased have been confirmed by their families.
Some of the bodies, it added, bore signs of torture, beatings, handcuffing, and blindfolding.
The handover comes as part of a broader prisoner exchange deal between Hamas and the Israeli occupation, tied to a ceasefire agreement aimed at halting the war in Gaza.
Under the first phase of the deal, Hamas has released 20 Israeli hostages alive, in addition to 13 bodies, while the occupation has freed 250 prisoners serving lengthy or life sentences, as well as 1,718 detainees from Gaza who were arrested after Oct. 7, 2023.
