Doha: Not only cameras and radars are used by Traffic Department to check violations on road, the General Directorate of Traffic is using also drones as part of its efforts to organize and control traffic.
On its Twitter account, the Department shared a video saying: “Drones monitor violations such as trucks' movement in the peak hours, failure to organize and secure the load in a safe manner, entering unauthorized areas, and failure to follow the designated lane”.
The Department has tweeted that usage of drones comes as part of its efforts to organize and control traffic. It uses drones to enhance the work of traffic patrols in carrying out their daily tasks, and to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
It also uses them to monitor a number of truck violations in all regions of the country.
