Al Shaqab continues to shine

EL JADIDA, Morocco:  Al Shaqab continued their excellence in the Morocco International Horse Show of the Salon du Cheval d’El Jadida, which is being held under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco. 

Hagras Al Shaqab topped the Two-Year-Old Colts Class, earning the highest score given by the judges and qualified for the final competition. 

The awarding ceremony took place in presence of Sheikh Hamad bin Ali Al Thani, Al Shaqab Breeding and Show Manager, Khaid bin Mohammed Al Ali, QREC Board Member, and Abdulla bin Rashid Al Kubaisi, QREC Racing Manager. 

Hagras Al Shaqab’s win secured the fifth victory for Al Shaqab in the qualifiers for the finals on the first two days of the Show. The other four victories for Al Shaqab were through Galliba Al Shaqab, who tallied 460 points in the Yearling Fillies Class, Alsba Al Shaqab, who topped the Two-Year-Old Fillies Class, Um Gariba Al Shaqab, who won the Three-Year-Old Fillies Class and Aaida Al Shaqab, who was the winner of Four-Six-Year-Old Fillies Class. 

Qatar’s success is our goal in Salon du Cheval

Khalid bin Mohammed Al Ali, Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club (QREC) Board Member, stressed the valuable benefits behind the Qatari participation in the Salon du Cheval d’El Jadida, which is being held under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco. He pointed out that benefits are maximised with the presence of 28 countries as well as he brilliant turnout in all various events of the Salon. 

“I have been present in the Salon’s editions for several years now,” said Al Ali. 

“There is always something new every year reflecting the Moroccan desire for continuous development. QREC’s platinum sponsorship of this year’s edition has been key to fostering the Qatari participation by QREC, Qatar Equestrian and Modern Pentathlon Federation and Al Shaqab.” 

Prince Abdellah Alaoui meets Nasser bin Sherida Al Kaabi

Nasser bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club (QREC) General Manager, met Prince Abdellah Alaoui, President of the Royal Moroccan Federation for Equestrian Sports and Chairman of the Salon du Cheval Organising Committee. 

Dr El Habib Marzak, Salon du Cheval Commissioner, was also present during the meeting on the sidelines of the 11th edition of the Salon.

During the meeting, mementos were exchanges and Prince Abdellah Alaoui lauded the Qatari role in the Salon through the platinum sponsorship this year and keenness to have a stand representing Qatar’s equestrian sport. 

Prince Abdellah Alaoui, on behalf of the Salon du Cheval Organising Committee, appreciated the significant Qatari impact on the present edition of the Salon.  He also emphasised the importance of working towards maximising cooperation and fostering the excellent relations between the two sides in favour of the equestrian sport both in Qatar and Morocco.

QREC General Manager Al Kaabi expressed his appreciation of the Moroccan hospitality, stating that Prince Abdellah Alaoui expressed appreciation to Qatar for its significant role in the success of the Salon in terms of the platinum sponsorship by QREC, continued presence in all 11 editions of the Salon since the very first one and the presence of the QREC delegation in the various events of the Salon. 

“The meeting was fruitful and it reflected the nature of the relations between Qatar and Morocco in general and in various fields,” said Al Kaabi. 

“In fact, Prince Abdellah Alaoui expressed his appreciation of the Qatari role and hopes for more cooperation in future and we agreed on that in view of the two sides’ keenness to maximise collaboration to enhance the standing of the equestrian sport both in Qatar and Morocco with many national and international events held in the two countries.”

“Given these firm relations and desire for mutual success, QREC’s participation in the Salon will certainly be on a larger scale in the coming years. We have already developed ideas, which will help put the agreed framework into practice whether in Qatar or Morocco’, concluded the QREC General Manager.
