Doha: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has been named a 2015 Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards winner for its nursing video, 'A Noble Profession'.
The short video, filmed at various HMC locations featuring a number of Qatari nurses, received the Silver Award in the Marketing Communication category at an event held in Cannes, France.
The video in Arabic and English language depicts a day in the life of several HMC nurses, exploring both why they entered the nursing field and their impact on Qatar's healthcare system.
HMC Managing Director Dr Hanan Al Kuwari said, "This award celebrates the dedication, passion and unique knowledge and expertise of our nurses and is an honour for our entire organization."
Produced to amplify nursing care and to engage young Qataris considering a career in the field, the unscripted film features HMC nurses and shows their role in Qatar's healthcare system.
Dr. Badriya Al-Lenjawi, Assistant Executive Director of Nursing for Professional Development and Qatarization, received the award in Cannes on behalf of HMC.
The film is the anchor production in a five-part series HMC commissioned to help illustrate the broad and far-reaching role of today's nurse. The series also includes four two-minute profile pieces that follow experienced nurses, three Qatari and one Tunisian, as they balance full-time work and home life; using their knowledge, expertise and compassion for their patients to navigate the often complex and fast-moving environment of today's nursing practice.
The Academic Health System (AHS), a collaboration of major education, research and healthcare institutions in Qatar, funded the video available at HMC’s website www.hamad.qa
