Doha: The Jordanian Minister of Labour, Nayef Steitieh, has revealed that the grant of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, which was reactivated at the beginning of this year with the target of providing 20,000 job opportunities in two phases, has presently provided 9,100 jobs for Jordanians in the Qatari labour market.

In a press statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Jordanian Minister of Labour said that there are 2,400 Jordanians who have obtained job opportunities in the Qatari labour market within the framework of the job allocation grant during the current year.

He noted that this has opened new horizons for the Jordanian workforce and talents to work in the Qatari market, which is notable for its job security. The minister appreciated Qatar's efforts in attracting Jordanian talents from various domains and specialisations, including nursing, vehicle maintenance, the service sector, among others.

Steitieh said that work is underway in Jordan to study and analyse the required skills and future needs of Qatar; to qualify the Jordanian workforce to be further integrated into the Qatari labour market.

In addition,  the Jordanian Minister of Labour pointed out that the platform dedicated to attracting Jordanian workers to Qatar is an important and appreciated initiative from HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, in light of the brotherly and deep relations between the two countries.

While praising the role of the Qatari embassy in the Jordanian capital, Amman, in facilitating the paperwork and visa application process, for Jordanians applying to work in Qatar, Steitieh hoped for the continuity of this agreement on the widest scale, due to the importance of the Qatari market for Jordan.

The Qatari jobs platform launched in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is keen to attract Jordanian competencies wishing to work in Qatar within a 20,000 job vacancy window and in two phases: the first phase consists of candidates submitting their job applications on the online platform https://sajjil.gov.jo followed by the second phase in which successful applicants will be selected by Qatar-based companies and the private sector, in partnership with the Chambers of Industry and Commerce.
