Doha, Qatar: Qatar’s dynamic duo Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan yesterday topped their Pool in the FIVB Beach Pro Tour Elite16 leg in Hamburg, Germany. Competing in Pool C, they delivered a stunning comeback victory against Czech Republic’s David Schweiner and Ondrej Perusic, winning with a score of 2-1 (17-21, 21-16, 15-9). The Olympic bronze winners continued their momentum later in the evening when they triumphed over Germany’s Paul Henning and Sven Winter 2-0 (21-7, 25-23) to stay unbeaten in the premier tournament and advance to the Round of 12. The duo had earlier defeated Polish qualifiers Piotr Kantor and Jakub Zdybek 2-1 (21-12, 18-21, 24-22) in their first match on Thursday.
