Sharq Village & Spa appoints Shady Abdelaziz as Director Sales & Marketing

Doha: Shady Abdelaziz (pictured) has been appointed as the Director of Sales & Marketing at Sharq Village & Spa, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Doha, from June 13, 2021. 

He will lead the comprehensive Room sales, MICE, catering sales, revenue management, PR, and marketing efforts for the hotel in this role. Before his current appointment, Shady held numerous sales leadership roles at Four Seasons Hotel Doha, including the Director of Sales.

Shady brings over 21 years of commercial and operational experience in the hospitality industry and has an impressive record of leadership and commitment to quality and service, which will immensely contribute towards adding value to the team. 

Shady will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and elevating the brand positioning further, with his meticulous outlook and passion for driving excellence.

A hospitality veteran, Shady began his career in 1999 in Egypt and enjoyed steady growth from working in Front Office and eventually moving to Catering Sales with reputed hotel brands in Cairo & Sharm el Sheikh. In 2007, he moved to Qatar and joined Four Seasons Hotel Doha as part of the Catering Sales team.

From 2011 to 2012, Shady made a brief detour from Hotels and took on a Sales role with Dubai World Trade Center, but soon returned to Four Seasons Hotel Doha once again as Director of Catering Sales & Conference Services — his niche. He was promoted to Director of Sales in 2016 and has ever since been a highly coveted sales resource, eventually coming on-board to join Sharq Village & Spa Hotel.

Maintaining excellence as a seasoned sales resource, Shady earned due recognition for achieving commendable business results and being a truly driven leader.

A great advocate of ‘putting people first,’ Shady carries with him a firm sense of ambition, not failing to equally prioritise emotional intellect, which he believes truly drives our industry.

Shady grew up in Egypt, where he studied Hotel & Tourism Management from Alexandria University in 1999 and further pursued his passion for education by securing his Master of Business Administration with Distinction from The University of Wollongong, Australia, in 2016.
