The Rotana Group Qatar offered a great solace to expats when its chartered aircraft went airborne yesterday In Qatar. Rotana Group Qatar teamed up with Tea time in scheduling a chartered flight from Hamad International Airport yesterday, 10am.

Their staff and family were among the passengers who boarded the aircraft. This could not have happened at a better time, as many expats who were weary of the recent flying restrictions imposed due to Covid-19, were among the relieved passengers.

The plane which was carrying 181 passengers plus crew, including four infants, went home bound yesterday.

According to Ajmal Rotana, this was no simple feat and the business chain, which includes Rotana

Restaurant and Target Travels, had one hurdle too many along the way. This was successfully accomplished by effective communication between the concerned agencies both in India and Qatar.

He added that, despite the initial setbacks, the Indian Embassy and the Ambassador in Qatar went extra mile to ensure safe returns of more than a hundred expats.

There are thousands of expats struggling with the havoc wreaked by the COVID-19 be it unemployment, ailments, loss in business and trades or expiration of visa. Chartered flights arranged by such kind souls are indeed a boon to them.
