Doha: The Indian community recently released a memoir titled “Legacy, the Pictorial Memoir of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022,” to commemorate the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The book was presented by Qatar Indian Islahi Centre, one of the oldest Indian expatriate organisations in Qatar, which has been in operation since 1980.
Ambassador of Argentina to Qatar, H E Guillermo Nicolas honoured the release of “Legacy” by unwrapping the replica of the magazine. Ambassador also represents the legendary winner of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Argentina.
In his address, Ambassador Nicolas spoke about football as a game uniting nations and kept Indians and their love for football in high esteem. He also regarded Indians for having team Argentina their favourite.
Abdulla Yusuf Al Mulla, Director of 3-2-1 Olympic and Sports Museum also witnessed the launching of the web version of the book. Al Mulla regarded Qatar 2022 is for Indians as much as it is for Qatar. “We together made it an awesome joint effort.”
He confirmed that he is going to ensure a definite space for Legacy magazine in the Sports museum.
The book provides a reliving experience of Qatar 2022 with 160 pages showcasing the golden movements of the tournament. A rare work that talks the history through blotted pictures from 2010 upon awarding hosting of the FIFA 2022 to Qatar until the crowning of the World Cup Champions of Qatar 2022.

Legacy can serve as a reference book for history, which otherwise might be a forlorn bypass of time.
The book launch ceremony was organised at the Westin Hotel ballroom in Doha. The event progressed in the evening following the welcome speech by Legacy Executive Editor Fyzal Karattiyattil, presided over by the Chairman, Hussain Mohammed U., Legacy Chief Editor, Raees Ahammed briefed about the magazine and the efforts in producing such a precious piece of literature. He also shared future plans for Legacy 2nd edition for the global market.
Islahi Centre leadership shared the pleasure that the Indian community represented by many organizations pledged their support for Legacy, and that Centre’s associates and sponsors also graced the grand release of Legacy.
The guests were presented with QIIC mementos by the senior leaderships of Qatar Indian Islahi Centre, President Akbar Qasim, General Secretary Muneer Salafi, Vice Presidents GP Kunhalikutty Ismail Vilyapally, and Zubair Wakra, Secretaries Salam Cheekunnu, Misbah and Eng.
