Doha: The global Saree Speak group has completed six years and this was celebrated by the members of the Qatar Chapter recently.
A global saree meet was held on April 14 to celebrate the sixth anniversary of Saree Speak, which is an universal group created to encourage the six-yard traditional wear, knowing the weaves and fabric, and in turn to boost the Indian Culture.
The Qatar Chapter of Saree Speak celebration took place in El & N London to symbolize that Saree Speak has spread its wings and is growing.
The meet was about spreading sisterhood generated through the common thread “the saree” and hence the theme was twinning.
Almost 60 ladies showcased their beautiful six yards twinning through weaves, fabric, colour and print.
Saree Speak is a non-profit group that doesn’t encourage the sale of sarees at its meets but only promotes needy weavers and their talents.
