Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani attended the final of WTA Qatar Total Open for women, which was held at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, last evening.
The Emir watched the match that took place between the world's No. 3 Karolina Pliskova and No. 18 Caroline Wozniacki. Pliskova won 6-3, 6-4.
A number of their excellencies, the sheikhs, ministers, ambassadors and guests of tournament watched the match. The victory gives 24-year-old Pliskova prize-money of $132,740, while Wozniacki, runner-up in 2011, took home $70,880.
