Doha: MES Indian School celebrated its ‘Go Green Project’ with the slogan ‘Each One Plant One’ on November 11, 2021, involving the students of the Campus Care Force, Scouts and Guides and MESMUN Club members in planting 500 flower saplings on the school campus.

Director for Cultural and Co-Curricular Activities, M C Mohammed, flagged off the event by handing over saplings to each one of the young environmentalists who attended the opening ceremony.

The school Principal, Hameeda Kadar, evoked the inherent eco–spirit in students with her motivational speech and urged them to involve dedicatedly in promoting environmental activities along with their classroom studies.

The student leaders pledged that this project would be a year-long mission to beautify the entire campus in the days to come. School officials and teachers were present on the occasion.

The event was coordinated by chief coordinator of the activities Manmmadhan Mambally. Teachers in-charge of Campus Care Force — Jency George, Celci Sebastian, Sumayya Shanuj and Dolette Jesudasan — and overall In-charge of Scouts and Guides Fiona Mary D’Cruz attended the event.

The Go Green project was an initiative of the school’s support and solidarity to Qatar’s vision of sustainable development and support to the Co2 Neutrality Summit of the United Nations. Overall, the programme offered a remarkable experience to the Go-Green representatives and taught them an invaluable lesson of life.
