For those in search of an alternative park to unwind away from the more popular parks in the city, there is one in Umm Salal which offers a relatively quiet ambience and plenty of foliage. Located 6km north of Landmark Mall, Al Kharaitiyat Park is one of the smaller parks in the country but boasts of lush greenery, benches, playground and wooden canopies where one can enjoy solitary moments during lazy afternoons.
The nearly 6,000sqm park, which is open from 3pm till 11pm, is frequented by families especially during the weekends. Children love to play on slides on the playground or simply run around the bushes and trees in the evenings.
