Doha Institute for Graduate Studies to hold orientation day for undergraduates

Doha: The Student Affairs Department at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies will organise an orientation day for undergraduates who wish to complete their higher studies with master’s and doctoral programmes. 

This event, which will be held at the institute’s headquarters, will include important information about admission requirements, standards, dates, and scholarships, and students will learn about the successful experiences of some of the institute’s graduates.  

The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies has made this day an annual tradition to introduce the specialisations it offers through an open student meeting aimed at providing an opportunity for those interested to view the available programmes in the fields of social, human and administrative sciences.

The introductory day will include a number of activities and programmes ranging from presentations on doctoral and master’s programmes, the sharing of study experiences of a number of graduates of the institute, faculty members presenting the study options available at the institute, to providing participants with sufficient information and answering inquiries regarding how to join these programmes.

This year, the institute offers eight doctoral programmes in the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the School of Economics, Administration and Public Policy, which are: Development Economics, Public Administration, Political Science and International Relations, Arabic Linguistics and Lexicography, History, Sociology, Media Studies, and Critical Security Studies.

The institute also offers 18 master’s programmes in two schools: the School of Social Sciences and Humanities which offers programmes in Philosophy, History, Sociology and Anthropology, Political Science and International Relations, Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies, Arabic Linguistics and Lexicography, Comparative Literature, Psychology, Social Work, Critical Security Studies, Conflict Management and Humanitarian Action, MA in Human Rights. 

The School of Economics, Administration and Public Policy offers MA in Public Administration, Executive Masters in Public Administration, MA in Development Economics, MA in Public Policy and Dual Executive MA in Business and Public Administration.
