Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty discussed efforts to achieve calm and de-escalation in the region in phone calls with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi, UK counterpart David Lamy, and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement today that the discussions focused on consolidating a sustainable ceasefire between Iran and Israel, ensuring the non-renewal of hostilities, and advancing the political and peaceful process.

In another context, the Egyptian Foreign Minister discussed with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) support for bilateral cooperation between his country and the IAEA in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
