With Eid Al Adha just a few days away, residents have already made their plans to make their celebrations memorable and dining out with friends and family members is on the top of their list. The advance online reservations for lunch and dinner have surged. Foreseeing the huge demand by guests, restaurants have rolled out special offers on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.

“Our app has seen a sharp rise in the advance bookings for seats in restaurants for Eid Al Adha. Some popular restaurants on our app are now fully booked for dinner on Eid day. Most of the advance bookings are for dinners after 7pm,” Alia Fatima Lalla, Chief Executive Officer of UTSeat app told The Peninsula.

“COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the travel plans of residents this year and most of them are staying in the country this summer. So one of the best ways to enjoy Eid is to go out for dining with family and friends,” Alia said.  The UTSeat app, which has seen more than 26,000 downloads, allows people to book seats in restaurants online.

Restaurants have lined-up an array of offers for Eid Al Adha for guests. To make this Eid memorable for their guests, restaurants are offering special menu for lunch and dinner. Many restaurants have planned special buffet having local and international cuisines. Most of the offers are available from the first to the fourth day of Eid Al Adha.

“We expect our business to be better this year compared to previous year. Now the restrictions on gathering and dining out have been eased which has already started showing positive impact on our business. The number of guest coming to our restaurants has increased in the past one month because of easing of restrictions,” a sous-chef from a restaurant told The Peninsula. “We have created a special menu for our guests for this Eid. We are expecting good response from our guests this year,” he added.

Restaurants across the country have benefitted from the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
