DOHA: Twenty-six MBA and Master of Accounting (MAC) students showcased their graduation and course projects at an exhibition held recently at the College of Business and Economics (CBE).
The event was also an opportunity for the college to unveil upcoming developments in the MBA curriculum. Topics presented included “Factors Influencing Consumers’ Online Brand Trust in Qatar”, “Constrain Management at Qatar Bio-Bank”, and “Economic Diversification and Future Employment Supply in Qatar”.
Projects by Sara Abdulla Al Maadeed (Measuring MBA Alumni and MBA Students’ Satisfaction with MBA Programme at QU), Rehab Dorgham (Factors Influencing Consumers’ Online Brand Trust in Qatar), Farzana Amani and Dunia Hallawa (CFOs’ Perceptions in the Construction Sector: The Case of Qatar), Maha Salem, Muhannad Banat, Saad Ahmed and Zakiya Al Boloshi (Hamad Medical Corporation Inventory Managing) and Yasamin Ali Morad, Rania Abou Gaida, Muneera AlJaidah, Nada Al Kubaisi, Refaan Al Thaiban (ABC Hospital Strategic Planning 2013-2016), were selected as best projects by a panel of judges comprising CBE faculty Dr Elias Shukralla, Dr Amro Maher, Dr Rami Zeitun, and Dr Shahriar Saadullah.
CBE Dean Dr Nitham Hindi said that findings of the studies will contribute to providing solutions to the challenges of the local community.
“One of the aims of the College is to graduate our students with know-how in leadership”, he said, adding that over the years, the College continued to advance its commitment to providing its students with knowledge and skills to achieve the outmost success in Qatari and international business markets.
CBE Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs Prof Khaled Al-Share noted that the MBA and MAC programs are continuously evolving with respect to their curricula. Proposals have been made for changes in the MBA curriculum which include creating two new concentrations in Entrepreneurship, and Business Analytics; developing a new compulsory course Business Research Methods and two electives Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management and Project Management, as well as a foundation course in Introduction to Finance for non-business majors.
