Doha, Qatar: The Department of Islamic Research and Studies at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has issued the 212th edition of the “Book of the Nation” series under the title “Book of the Nation: Enlightened Contributions and Renewed Giving” (Part One), featuring contributions from a distinguished group of researchers, scholars, and academics.
The publication includes four research papers presented during the first “Book of the Nation Writers Forum,” organised by the department in Doha in October 2025.
The forum aimed to evaluate the journey of the series, which has continued for more than four decades, and assess its role in promoting Islamic thought rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah while addressing intellectual and cultural challenges facing the Muslim world.
The new volume features studies by Professor Abdul Majid Omar Al Najjar, Dr. Bilal Shabib, Professor Noureddine Al Khadimi, and Professor Abdul Salam Al Majidi, each examining different aspects of the series’ intellectual contributions and influence.
Sheikh Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani, Director of the Department of Islamic Research and Studies, said the publication comes within the ministry’s efforts to spread moderate Islamic thought, strengthen intellectual awareness, and help build an informed generation capable of understanding and addressing contemporary issues facing the Islamic nation.
He explained that the book provides a constructive critical study documenting the cultural and intellectual characteristics that have distinguished the “Book of the Nation” series over the years, noting that its methodological consistency has made it a recognizable intellectual project in Islamic and academic circles.
Dr. Ahmed Al Thani emphasized that despite the diversity of topics covered in more than 200 editions, the series maintains a coherent intellectual structure in which all publications complement one another, forming what he described as an integrated and harmonious intellectual system.
