Doha: A Qatari plane carrying humanitarian aid has arrived in Afghanistan.
The aid includes about 60 tons of educational materials intended for the education sector, as well as humanitarian and food aid.
This assistance comes within the framework of the endeavors of the State of Qatar and its firm commitment to provide support and stand by the Afghan people, and to provide them with the urgent necessary needs.
It is worth noting that the State of Qatar recently hosted talks on the future of education in Afghanistan and the challenges and obstacles facing it, with the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Education Above All Foundation, the Afghan Ministry of Education, UNICEF and Education Cannot Wait.
Participants in these talks agreed on the need to guarantee the right to education for all, and to develop a common vision that deals with the challenges, and to provide high-quality educational opportunities for all Afghan students in all regions.
Qatar has been providing urgent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan over the past years, including foodstuffs via an air bridge from Qatar to Kabul, transporting hundreds of tonnes of humanitarian aid.
