In an attempt to boost its new program grid with a range of world-class radio products and to satisfy a large portion of its listenership, QBS radio will be broadcasting The Kim Wilde 80s Show.
The show launches on February 20, at 4pm, and will air every Saturday at 4 pm subsequently.
Wilde is best known worldwide as an 80s pop icon and a contemporary recording artist but has most recently been hosting her own weekly international radio show.
Commenting on the show, Kim Wilde said, “For as long as I can remember, I have always loved music – singing, playing, writing, listening – and I have always loved radio too. I am thrilled to be presenting the Kim Wilde 80s Show.”
“I am looking forward to working with QBS. I hope I get the chance not just to be on air, but also to visit Qatar as soon as travel becomes possible again and to join in with the station’s concerts and events,” she added.
The one-hour show is a great way for the QBS audience to remember the soundtrack of their lives and bring back the dearest memories from the good old days.
Wilde has enjoyed 19 Top 40 UK hits, achieved an American number one, toured Europe, and presented top-rated TV shows. The Kim Wilde 80s Show is a joint production between Radio Express and award-winning British syndication company Blue Revolution.
Paul Hollins, Radio Express CEO, told QBS: “Kim has a proven track record in radio, and we are delighted to be able to bring her passion to QBS. The Kim Wilde 80s Show underlines our commitment to bringing world-class radio to listeners worldwide.”
For his part, Ivan Laskov, Radio Express Head of Content, commented, “The Kim Wilde 80s Show is a modern, highly-produced programme. It is perfect for any station that wants to ‘own the 80s’ in a unique, 21st-century way. We are thrilled to be launching in Qatar.”
