Prime Minister visits Arab World Institute in Paris

Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani with officials during his visit to Arab World Institute in Paris.

Paris: Prime Minister and Interior Minister  H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday visited Arab World Institute (AWI) in Paris. He was welcomed by AWI President Jack Lang and senior officials.
The Premier and Lang reviewed cooperation, especially in the scientific and cultural fields, means of promoting it and topics of mutual interest.
He also toured the institute and was briefed on its departments and the library which comprise rare books from the Arab world. He also visited the museum which displays rare manuscripts and antiques from Arab countries.
The Premier praised the institute as one of the important centres for disseminating the Arab culture and civilisation and presenting them to the public in France, Europe and the world through artistic, literary and intellectual events. He expressed Qatar’s appreciation to the institute’s mission. The institute was founded in 1980 by 18 Arab countries with France. He also met at Qatari embassy General Denis Favier, Director-General, French National Gendarmerie, and discussed issues of mutual concern, especially in the security field. He also met at the embassy top officials of Thales, Vinci, Systra, Cofely Ineo, Egis, Suez Environnement, ENGIE and Total. Today, the Premier will hold talks with President Francois Hollande, Prime Minister Manuel Valls, ministers and officials on ways of developing relations in various fields and latest regional and international issues of common concern.
Meanwhile, he condemned terrorist attacks in Paris, expressing solidarity of the government and people of Qatar with the French government and extended condolences to the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
