Doha: The State of Qatar condemned, in the strongest terms, the murder of the Member of the British Parliament and Chairman of the Qatar All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Sir David Amess, and considered his stabbing incident a horrific crime and a clear violation of human rights.
In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's firm position on rejecting violence and terrorism, regardless of the motives and reasons.
Sir David Amess, as Chairman of the Qatar All-Party Parliamentary Group, has made commendable and sincere efforts to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries, which is highly appreciated by the State of Qatar's leadership, government and people, the Foreign Ministry said.
The Ministry expressed the condolences of the State of Qatar to his family and the government and people of Britain.
