Doha: Minister of State and Chairman of Qatar Free Zones Authority H E Ahmad Al Sayed received a US Congress delegation in the Qatar Free Zones recently. The Minister was joined by senior executives from the QFZA to welcome the delegation visiting the country.
The delegation included Congressmen Darrell Issa, Lou Correa, Darin Lahood, Jay Obernolte, Andrew Garbarino and Matt Gaetz, as well as Congresswomen Victoria Spartz and Claudia Tenney.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed trade, investment, and industrial cooperation. Minister Al Sayed emphasised that the QFZA aspires to enhance the cooperation and exchange of experiences in these key sectors between Qatar and the US. The two sides also reviewed issues of mutual interest that play an important and constructive role in Qatar-US relations.
The delegation was presented with the investment opportunities and benefits offered to US companies at the Qatar Free Zones. Minister Al Sayed reiterated that QFZ will continue to enhance its offering to serve as a leading regional base for companies – supported by the advanced infrastructure in the free zones and across Qatar.
It is worth mentioning that a number of leading US-based companies have announced the establishment of their businesses and operations in Qatar Free Zones.
