DOHA: Announcing the construction of 15 pedestrian bridges, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment said that the bridges will be equipped with shops, restaurants, toilets, ATMs and electric elevators. 

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment said that it will implement the construction of 15 pedestrian bridges in different places in the country, in coordination with roads department of the Ministry of Transport. 

The pedestrian bridges are being built to meet people’s needs and to save the pedestrians life. They are also part of ongoing developments in Qatar.

The government has established a supervisory committee consisting of officials from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, The Public Works Authority (Ashghal), General Directorate of Traffic Department at the Ministry of Interior and Qatar Development Bank. The Committee is responsible to monitor the projects at all its phases, from designs and buildings and overcome any obstacles the project may face.
