Doha, Qatar: Al Arabi officially announced the signing of Senegalese defender Abdou Diallo as the former Paris Saint-Germain player yesterday became the latest high profile player to join a Qatari club.

The 27-year-old Diallo yesterday signed three-year contract with the Amir Cup champions, with room for another one-year extension, Al Arabi posted on X platform.

The centre-back had a successful stint with PSG, being part of the unstoppable French champions on their way to clinch two Ligue 1 titles, two French Cups, and a League Cup during his tenure with the club.

Diallo began his career with AS Monaco, making his debut in 2014 before he played a role in their Ligue 1 victory in 2017.

Diallo spent a season on loan at RB Leipzig, where he faced a setback due to a serious injury, and was omitted from PSG’s pre-season tour in Asia.

Prior to his departure, Diallo expressed his gratitude for his time at PSG, saying, “I’ll always be a Parisian and grateful to have worn this shirt.”

Diallo’s arrival in Qatar also means he will get to play in the Expo Stars League alongside his brother Ibrahima, the former Southampton midfielder who currently plays for reigning champions Al Duhail.
