Qatari athlete Abu Bakr Abdullah celebrates with the national flag after winning the 800m gold medal on the final day of the 25th Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok yesterday. He clocked 1:45.53s to bag the victory that also took him to the next month’s World Championships. India’s Krishan Kumar claimed silver with a time of 1:45.88s while Ebrahim Al Zofairi (1:46.11s) of Kuwait came third. Qatar’s Abdirahman Saeed finished fifth in the race.
