DOHA: Qatar University’s (QU) Mass Communication Department in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) yesterday celebrated the accreditation given by the Academic Council of the Association of Education of Journalism and Mass Communication (ACAEJMC).
The event to mark the international accreditation status was held in the presence of the accreditation council and leading journalists from Doha. It was attended by QU President Prof Sheikha Abdulla Al Misnad, CAS Dean Dr Eiman Mustafawi and Mass Communication Department head Dr Mahmoud Galander together with journalists from Al Sharq, other media organisations and officials of the ACAEJMC.
“This accreditation is an evidence for the quality of our educational programs,” said Al Misnad. Addressing the event Dr Galander specified the role of Al Sharq in training their students saying, “Al Sharq is our media partner, because it has provided training for our students and employed them.”
