The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has developed three new architectural designs for temporary labour camps.

The designs were approved by the Building Permit Complex at the Ministry which represents all the governmental agencies involved in the process of granting building permits.

The new designs meet all the conditions set by various entities and those related to space and services given to each worker according to the Qatari labour law.

With the new designs, each facility can accommodate between 204 to 214 workers, said a ministry statement yesterday.

Developers can use these designs for designing and consultancy services and they need to focus only on general site plan and civil defence plan. The ministry provides these designs to make procedures easier for developers who have land plots.

“We have coordinated with the General Directorate of Civil Defence at the Ministry of Interior and took approval in this regard,” said Tariq Juma Al Tamimi, director of the Building Permits Complex.

“We will issue building permits from the municipality concerned without any delay. However, if some changes have been made in the designs, they must take necessary approval from the authorities concerned,” Al Tamimi added. The designs are available on the ministry's website.
