DOHA: Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development is urging football enthusiasts across the world to seize upon their final opportunity to enter the organisation’s latest competition in celebration of its ongoing partnership with FC Barcelona (FCB).
The competition, which wraps up today at midnight Qatar time (2100 GMT), has already attracted exceptional worldwide interest with tens of thousands of people visiting the Qatar Foundation and FCB Facebook page to participate and spread the word about the contest among their families and friends.
Qatar Foundation unveiled its latest competition on Monday by inviting the global community to enter its ‘Passion Drives Our World’ contest. The prize on offer is truly unique, with the winner travelling from their hometown to Barcelona, flying with the FCB team to Germany, and watching the Champions League semi-final first leg tie against Bayern Munich live at the stunning Allianz Arena on April 23.
Sports enthusiasts who are yet to enter the social media competition simply have to take a photograph of themselves standing in front of a well-known landmark anywhere in the world holding up a Qatar Foundation–FCB ‘Passion Drives Us All’ banner.
The poster can be downloaded easily and printed out from the Qatar Foundation-FCB website at www.qf-fcb.com. Alternatively, participants are encouraged to download the ‘Passion Drives Us All’ poster onto their tablet computers and take a photograph holding up the device rather than a paper printout.
The winner will be selected at random through a prize draw and will be able to nominate a friend or relative so that they can take this once-in-a-lifetime journey together. There will also be an additional prize of a signed Qatar Foundation-branded FCB shirt for the competition entrant who lives furthest from Doha, emphasising the global resonance of the partnership with FCB.
The eagerly awaited semi-final tie against Bayern Munich sets up the prospect of a Champions League Final between FCB and Real Madrid, should both sides prevail, to take place at Wembley in London next month.
The ‘Passion Drives Our World’ competition is the latest in a series of contests and events designed to capture the public imagination through the Qatar Foundation–FCB partnership. Earlier this year, lucky contestants won prizes to travel with the FCB team to the ‘El Clasico’ match in Madrid, and to the Champions League quarter-final game in Paris against Paris Saint-Germain.
