Doha: The 8th Ajyal Film Festival presented by the Doha Film Institute (DFI) will be offering local film lovers a safe big screen cinema experience with an exciting selection of feature films and acclaimed shorts screening at VOX Cinemas, Doha Festival City from November 19 to 23.
Part of the in-person events portion of the first-ever hybrid edition of the Ajyal Film Festival, audiences are invited to enjoy transformative cinematic experiences in a safe environment that follows health guidelines set by the government. All feature films and short film programmes are priced at QR60 for regular seating and QR90 for premium seating.
Feature films from the 2020 Ajyal Film Festival programme presented at VOX Cinemas, Doha Festival City include Sun Children by Majid Majidi, Father by Srdan Golubović, 200 Meters by Ameen Nayfeh, A Night for Forgiveness by Massoud Bakhshi, I Am Greta by Nathan Grossman, The Wolves by Samuel Kishi Leopo, and Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna by TomohisaTaguchi.
Short films from the 2020 Ajyal Film Festival programme presented at VOX Cinemas, Doha Festival City are divided into two parts. The first part of the programme will screen on Sunday at 8.30pm and is open to over 18 audiences. They include Apfelmus by Alexander Gratzer, I am Afraid to Forget Your Face by Sameh Alaa, Family Plot by Shuichi Okita, Mascot by Kim Leeha, We Have One Heart by Katarzyna Warzecha, En Route by Marit Weerheijm, and Nightshift by Karim Shaaban.
Screening at 5.30pm on November 23, the second part of the programme which is open to over 18 audiences features How My Grandmother Became a Chair, David by Zach Woods, The Present by Farah Nabulsi, The Best Orchestra in the World by Henning Backhaus, The School Bus by Ramazan Kılıç, The Visit by Azadeh Moussavi, and Napo by Gustavo Ribeiro.
Returning with an exciting selection of 16 DFI-supported short form narratives and documentaries from emerging Qatari talents and those who call Qatar home, Made in Qatar will screen at VOX Cinemas in two parts.
Programme 1 will screen at 2.30pm on Friday followed by Programme 2 screening at 5.30pm on Sunday.
