Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC), through its Department of Chemical and Hazardous Waste, organised a specialised training programme titled “Prevention of Chemical Hazards” for staff working at the Abu Samra border crossing.
The programme, which saw the participation of 100 personnel involved in handling hazardous materials, aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of chemical substances and equip staff with practical knowledge on how to prevent related risks.
The training covered essential topics, including safe handling procedures, risk mitigation techniques, and preventive measures required to ensure a safe working environment.
Participants were also introduced to regulatory requirements and safety protocols essential for managing hazardous materials effectively.
This initiative is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to promote occupational safety and environmental protection in key entry points across the country.
