Doha: Andhra Kala Vedika (AKV) - Qatar Managing Committee recently organised a blood donation camp at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) Blood Donor Center on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav or the 75th Year of Independence Day of India.

HMC Blood Donor Unit Coordinators conveyed their special appreciation to AKV for arranging a huge number of donors for the first time and issued a certificate of appreciation afterwards.

Among those who participated during the blood donation are Indian Cultural Center (ICC), an apex body of the Embassy of India, Vice-President Subramanya Hebbagelu; Krishna Kumar, General Secretary; K.S. Prasad, Advisory Council Chairman; and from Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), Rajani Murthy, Head of Medical Camps and Medical Assistance. 

Prominent community leaders Mahesh Gowda, President of Karnataka Sangha; Shankar Goud, President of Telangana Gulf Samithi; Venkatesh Potta, General-Secretary of Telangana Praja Samithi; and senior community members Satyanarayana Malireddy, Harish Reddy, Gottipati Ramana also attended the event. 

They also extended their appreciation to AKV in organising a noble social cause event. 

President of Andhra Kala Vedika, Venkappa Bhagavatula, said that despite many hurdles they faced, the blood donation camp received an overwhelming response from the Telugu community. Over 100 donor registered and donated blood.

Vedika also conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to all donors, volunteers and supporters in making the event a successful one, especially to Resident Director of Navayuga – Sri Ch. Ravi Kishore.
