Qatar Academy Sidra’s (QAS) Class of 2021 students celebrated the results of their International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, announced worldwide this month.
The results for QAS, part of Qatar Foundation’s (QF) PreUniversity Education, revealed that the average score for its students was 35.2 points — above the global average — with some students achieving a high score of 40 points.
A 100 percent pass rate was achieved by all those who entered for the qualification, and two-thirds of students bagged a bilingual diploma. Dr. Carolyn Mason Parker, Director, QAS, said, “Students have faced new situations over the past 18 months.
The QAS graduates have risen to the challenges of learning during a pandemic. We congratulate them on their outstanding results. We are proud of their contributions to our school community, and we look forward to hearing how they continue to become future changemakers.”
The students are now preparing to attend a variety of universities all over the world, including Georgetown University in Qatar, a QF partner university; University of Reading, UK; University of Edinburgh, UK; American University of Cairo, Egypt; University of Toronto, Canada; University of California San Diego, US; McGill University, Canada; University of Amsterdam, Netherlands; American University of Beirut, Lebanon; Koč University, Turkey.
QAS’s Class of 2021 officially joined a global community of nearly one million International Baccalaureateeducated men and women in May when they graduated from the two-year programme in an official graduation ceremony.
