Cairo: The Arab League praised the State of Qatar's continuous efforts in supporting the Palestinian cause and assisting the Palestinian people across various humanitarian, relief, and political fields, particularly in alleviating the suffering of the people of the Gaza Strip.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories sector at the Arab League, Ambassador Faed Mustafa underscored the State of Qatar's ongoing pivotal and influential role alongside Arab efforts aimed at easing the suffering of the Palestinians, especially in light of the difficult circumstances facing the Palestinian cause.

The Arab League closely follows the positions of Qatar and other Arab countries that support the resilience of the Palestinian people in this critical period, he said.

The State of Qatar and its leadership, represented by the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, are genuine partners of the Palestinian people in their national struggle for freedom and independence, highlighted Ambassador Mustafa.

Qatar has consistently stood by the Palestinian people, he added, whether through humanitarian and relief assistance or through its political positions supporting the Palestinian people's legitimate national rights, foremost among them their right to freedom, independence, and the establishment of an independent state.

The Arab League Assistant Secretary-General also commended the role played by both Qatar and Egypt as leading mediators working to advance efforts aimed at improving conditions in Gaza and implementing related understandings.

Ambassador Mustafa hoped for these efforts to succeed so that US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan is implemented in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of the Palestinian people, particularly in light of ongoing Israeli obstacles and delays hindering the positive outcomes expected when Israeli military action ends.

Ambassador Mustafa told QNA that the continuation of Qatari and Egyptian efforts is essential to ensure the implementation of agreed commitments and to improve the humanitarian and living conditions of the residents of the Gaza Strip, amid ongoing humanitarian and economic challenges.

He emphasized the Palestinian people's appreciation for the State of Qatar's efforts alongside those of other mediators and hoped that these initiatives would succeed in achieving security and stability and in alleviating the suffering of Palestinians, particularly those in Gaza.
