Doha: For the second year in a row, Vodafone Qatar and Hifz Al Naema Social Centre came together to distribute Ramadan food baskets that benefited more than 200 families in need.

The baskets were personally delivered by Vodafone Qatar’s Head of Public Sector Mohamed Al Yafei and the Company’s Brand Ambassador Ali bin Towar Al Kuwari.

The baskets contained chicken, rice, pasta, lentils and milk, enough to feed an entire family throughout the Holy month of Ramadan.

In parallel, Vodafone Qatar and Hifz Al Naema will use their social media channels to raise awareness about food waste, a major issue in Qatar.

The initiative is being organised as part of Vodafone Qatar’s broad ranging corporate social responsibility programme during the holy month under the banner of the Company’s Ramadan campaign #ShukranFromTheHeart.

Mohamed Al Yafei, Head of Public Sector, Vodafone Qatar said: “We’re proud to once again partner with Hifz Al Naema to share our blessing during the Holy month. Hifz Al Naema are doing incredible work to identify and help those less fortunate so it’s important that the private and public sector support their honourable mission.”

Youssef Al Khulaifi, Manager of Hifz Al Naema, said that the food basket project is one of the centre’s Ramadan initiatives designed to provide support to families that have registered.

He also praised Vodafone for its support for the second year in row, emphasising that Hifz Al Naema welcomes partnerships and collaborations of all kinds with companies and government institutions.

This reflects the level of commitment to corporate social responsibility required from organisations to help realise the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Hifz Al Naema is a social awareness centre that utilises, rationalises and recycles the resources available to society in the best way possible.

The centre also offers its services to those in need, and raises awareness about food waste in Qatar.

Hifz Al Naema was launched in year 2008 as a community initiative and opened the first food bank in Qatar.
