Meerat Ramadan, located in the southern part of the Katara Cultural Village, has brought a variety of pre-Ramadan gift baskets and garments and that too at reasonable prices.
‘Distinctive Touch’ stall at Meerat has a wide range of customised shirts, mugs, cushions, waist coats, bags etc. Baskets of gifts include prayer mat, rosary, set of ‘oud items’, chocolates and many more exciting stuff.
Nawal Al Mushaifri, owner of "Distinctive Touch" told The Peninsula: “We have designed special items for the holy month of Ramadan as shirts with interesting comics and greetings are available for kids at QR80 and for adults at QR100. ”
“I have made baskets for men, women and children starting from QR250 to QR350. These baskets can be customized,” she added.
"Qatar Dress Boutique" stall provides fancy garments for ladies. This stall has elegant, stylish and modern dresses from UK, Dubai and Qatar.
“We have dresses for ladies to dress up for Iftar, Suhoor, Ghabqa, Eid and other occasions. Our price range for dresses is between QR200 and QR600. We have affordable dresses at the price of QR199 as well,” said Amal Abdul Majeed, the owner of Qatar Dress Boutique.
The most prestigious gift in Ramadan is perfumes, special selection of the finest perfumes are available at "Um Ahmed Perfume" booth installed at Meerat Ramadan. Gift baskets with set of seven or eight perfumes comes for QR1,500.
Handmade covers for mobiles, tables, small or big bottles and flasks, Ramadan Kareem special bakhoor burners in every size and colour, name engraved bakhoor burners are offered at ‘Anteeka Gifts’ booth.
Dr Maryam Al Dossari, owner of Anteeka Gifts, said: “Among all the gift shop outlets, this booth is the most reasonable one. The price range of all gifts is between QR30 and QR200. ”
Extraordinary handmade home decoration items from Egypt are also present at ‘Aseela’ booth. ‘Greetings’ engraved on glass trays, boxes and wall hangings with combinations of exotic colours.
“We have paid QR500 as rent for two weeks for this booth, there is no advertisement of Meerat Ramadan due to which we lack customers. We have special items which have been brought all the way from Egypt. The maximum price of these items is QR220. Just to attract customers our booth display is changed every day,” Hiba told The Peninsula.
