DOHA: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) organised a visit to Al Wakra Preparatory School to introduce to the students the infrastructure projects being implemented in Al Wakra and south Doha area.
The presentation also aimed at introducing the students to engineering fields that they can pursue to join Ashghal in its mission to implement the state’s infrastructure and buildings projects.
A team from Ashghal’s Public Relations Department, headed by Abdulla Saad Al Saad, Public Relations and Communications Department Manager, and engineer Bader Darwish from the Infrastructure Affairs took part in this visit. Abdulla Al Saad said: “This visit represents a part of the integrated community outreach programme carried out by the Authority to raise awareness and involve the community in the achievement of the mission assigned to Ashghal.
he added that “such school visits constitute an important part of Ashghal’s community outreach programme especially that the authority is seeking to boost local engineering talents, which requires familiarising the students with the fields in which they can specialise.”
A detailed presentation provided a comprehensive overview of the projects being implemented in Al Wakra and south Qatar including their stages, features, and photos of what has been achieved so far.
Brochures were also handed out and included general information on the projects guidelines to ensure the safety of residents, as well as contact details for Ashghal and community engagement officers responsible for each project.
The visit saw a lot of interaction from the students who showed significant interest in what was being presented.
