Malacañang yesterday lauded Filipino shadow theater group El Gamma Penumbra for winning the championship of the first Asia’s Got Talent (AGT) finals in Singapore.

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said the win of El Gamma Penumbra at the Asia’s Got Talent finals showcases genuine Filipino talent.

Coloma also lauded Filipinos who made it to the finals of the Asia’s Got Talent – Gerphil Flores and Gwyneth Dorado – for their admirable performances.

Mongolia’s Khusugtun was second in the competition, while Flores was third.

With their shadow play to the tune of “Colors of the Wind,” El Gamma Penumbra beat other contestants from Mongolia, Thailand, China, Singapore, and Japan and bagged the US$100,000 top prize as well as a chance to perform at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

The group hails from Tanauan City, Batangas and first gained national prominence via the local television talent search Pilipinas Got Talent season 3.
