DOHA: India’s Finance Minister, P Chidambaram, is scheduled to pay an official visit here on May 19, a press statement issued by the Indian Embassy said yesterday.
During his visit, Chidambaram will hold meetings with Minister of Economy and Finance H E Yousef Hussain Kamal, and other dignitaries. He will also interact with Qatari business leaders.

Arab telecom, media magnates unveil $129m film deal
ROME: Egyptian telecoms tycoon Naguib Sawiris and French-Tunisian financier Tarak Ben Ammar unveiled a $129m partnership to produce and distribute films and television programmes in the Arab world and internationally.
Under the deal, Sawiris will buy a 30-percent stake in Ben Ammar’s Italy’s based Quinta Communications Italia, which made the announcement in a press release timed to coincide with the start of the Cannes film festival in France. Sawiris and Ben Ammar are also planning to buy out companies in the media sector, the statement said. AFP
