Doha: With an intention to raise awareness of fire safety and its prevention among the parents, students and staff of schools, the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the General Directorate of Civil Defense conducted an online session recently.
Lieutenant Sabah Mordhi Altoumi, Officer, Fire Prevention Department, Qatar Civil Defence, in his keynote address, accentuated the importance of following the fire safety measures by everyone at home and workplace.
Imaam Abdul Salam, the Trainer, with the aid of presentation slides explained in detail among various topics the safe use of electricity at home, the appropriate places for keeping gas cylinders and effective ways of using them while cooking, the dos and don’ts about handling electricity and electrical appliances, general as well as specific hands-on tips and guidelines during emergency arising out of fire break out.
Various expatriate schools including MES Indian School participated in the webinar. Earlier, Mohammed Illias, Vice Principal, MES Indian School in his felicitation remarks thanked the officials of MoI for the initiatives in creating awareness among the general public towards fire safety.
There was also a quiz contest based on the presentation and conducted by the host of the webinar, Faisal Hudawi, Public Relations Officer, Community Reach-Out at the end of the event.
