Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanim Al Thani, Director General of the General Department of Endowments, stressed, during a press conference, the importance of the historical role of the Islamic Waqf Foundation in adopting social responsibility and community participation, and helping the needy and people with special needs to overcome their suffering, in pursue of the motto Endowments are Societal Partnership.

Member of QSRSN Board of Directors Talib Afifa extended thanks and appreciation for the endowment support, pointing that the relationship between the endowments and the parties concerned with people with disabilities is old and well-established, as reflected in many projects, programmes and assistance that were directed for the benefit of persons with special needs.

The endowment fund for patients care is one of the six endowment funds. It was established in pursue of the role of health endowments in Islamic history.

The fund is also one of the forms of community participation in health care through assisting needy patients; cooperating with the competent authorities to conduct joint health programmes; holding educational training courses in the health field and utilising various media vehicles to spread health culture among members of society.
