Lulu Group honoured for participation in AgriteQ, EnviroteQ Exhibition

Doha: Minister of Municipality H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie and Minister of Environment and Climate Change H E Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani have honoured Lulu Hypermarket for its active participation as the Gold Sponsor at the 9th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) and 3rd Qatar International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ).

Director of Lulu Group International Dr. Mohamed Althaf received a memento and a certificate of appreciation on behalf of the Group at the closing ceremony of the exhibition held at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC)

H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie visited Lulu Hypermarket pavilion at the AgriteQ 2022 and commended the new food security and sustainability initiatives implemented by the group at the store level. 

He was also accompanied by Head of the Exhibition Organizing Committee, Mohamed Ali Al Khouri.

Dr. Mohamed Althaf briefed about the initiatives taken by Lulu towards food security and sustainability aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.  

Lulu's pavilion showcased its new initiatives of reverse vending machine and eco-friendly products, renewing its  commitment to achieving long term targets aligned with the SDGs. 

They have also showcased more than 50 private label products that are locally produced. Lulu strongly believes that a good retail intervention can help the public health outcomes by its new design built healthy food lines of below 100 K. Cal., Keto diet and protein-rich products and may more.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Exhibition, Dr. Althaf said, “We are quite excited to become part of this internationally-acclaimed exhibition. Our history and reputation are intimately linked to the support of local farmers and companies. We are permanently committed to buying from local producers and companies whose products meet our high-quality standards. 

"We continue to help them make advancement in a big way by increasing our procurement of locally grown produce and food products. We take this opportunity to thank all Ministry and Municipal authorities for being the guiding force throughout our journey.”  

Lulu Hypermarket, being the Gold Sponsor, set up a spacious and well-designed pavilion this year incorporating all its new innovations and private label product lines, which was inaugurated by H E Dr. Deepak Mittal, Ambassador of India to Qatar. 

Many dignitaries including Vahan Kerobyan, Armenia's Minister of Economy, and ambassadors of Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Rwanda visited the Lulu pavilion.

Lulu Group has also made a presentation on the topic ‘Impact of climate change on food security — a regional perspective’ in the QIAE Conference 2022 that was held on March 13, 2022, at DECC.
