The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has opened a new mosque with a capacity of 977 worshippers in New Al Rayyan area.
The new mosque is a part of the project of the Ministry to build new mosques and expand the existing one to meet the growing demands of facilities for worship.
The move aims at keeping pace with the increasing population of the country.
The new mosque (No 300) comprises main area for prayers with a capacity of 413 worshipers, another area for 54 women worshippers. The mezzanine floor can accommodate another 510 worshippers. The new mosque has other necessary facilities.
