Umm Salal formally announced yesterday that they have parted ways with Turkish head coach Bulent Uygun by mutual consent.
The decision came in the wake of their 8-0 defeat to Al Sadd.
Uygun has spent three years with the Orange Fortress and pushed them into the upper reaches of the league in his two full seasons in charge.
Umm Salal also announced his replacement,  Mahmoud Jaber.
The Egyptian born coach is no stranger to the Umm Salal set-up having previously worked with the clubs youth teams.
Jaber took his first training session on Wednesday evening, and will start to prepare his side ahead of their Round 12 match against Al Wakrah tomorrow evening.
